Beyond the boundaries of imagination ...

Au mois de mai, deux évènements importants vont se dérouler pour Valerie. Le premier est le lancement de son nouveau site, www.valeriecollective.com, dont nous vous reparlerons très prochainement dans de plus amples détails. Le second, sera la sortie de notre première compilation, Valerie & Friends, sur le label ESR le 27 mai. Vous y retrouverez les membres du collectif avec des titres exclusifs, mais aussi quelques unes des plus belles rencontres artistiques du blog comme Dvas, Narctrax ou encore Steve Moore. En attendant, et pour patienter sagement, voici deux petites gourmandises sonores a déguster sans modération : la bande annonce du très prometteur premier Ep de Loose Shus et une parenthèse historique de 1982, avec le projet "Explorer" de Tony Carey.

In May, two important events are going to take place for Valerie. The first one is the upcoming launch of our brand new site, www.valeriecollective.com, of which we shall speak about again very soon in greater detail. (we're excited!) The second, will be the release of our very first compilation, 'Valerie and Friends', which will be released on the label ESR on May 27th.You will find all six members of the collective on there showcasing exclusive tracks, but also some of the most beautiful artistic meetings and discoveries from the blog, such as Dvas, Narctrax and Steve Moore. The Great Canadian Adventure

La première exposition du collectif Allemand, The Zonders, s'est déroulée le 27 mars dernier à Off the hook, au Canada.Les participants ont eu la chance d'admirer quelques une des plus belles oeuvres réalisées pour les Valerie Party mais aussi leur fabuleuse collection de tee-shirt. L'ambiance sonore de cette exposition a été créée par un autre collectif, Les Enfants Terribles, dont le travail m'avait, par hasard, été présenté par Raphaël des Minitel Rose quelques semaines auparavant. A mon tour, je souhaite partager avec vous cette découverte, en vous proposant une de leur composition, hommage aux films de ninja des 80's et ce mix, réalisé spécialement pour Valerie.

The first exhibition of our favorite German collective, The Zonders, took place at Off the hook, in Canada on March 27th.The attendees had the chance to admire some of the beautiful graphic works produced for our Valerie Parties as well as admire their fabulous collection of T-shirts. The atmosphere of this exhibition was sonically complimented by another collective, Les Enfants Terribles, whose work had been presented to me by Raphaël from Minitel Rose a few weeks earlier. And now I want to share this discovery with you, by posting one of their compositions, (a tribute to the Ninja films of the 80's) and this mix, produced exclusively for Valerie.

The Deal

Si vous êtes des lecteurs assidus du blog, vous connaissez sûrement Stephen Falken. Il est la moitié du projet The Outrunners mais compose également en son propre nom. Ses ballades harmoniques et synthétiques sont toujours une merveilleuse invitation au voyage. Après Shadow of the Wind, il revient nous présenter un nouvelle essai, The Deal. Un dossier sombre et fantastique qui ouvre une nouvelle page passionnante de son histoire.

If you are diligent readers of this blog, then you'll certainly know of Stephen Falken by now. Usually recognized as one half of the project The Outrunners, Falken also composes under his own name. His harmonious and synthetic ballads are always a magnificent invitation to an adventurous journey. After Shadow of the Wind, he now presents to us a brand new piece, entitled The Deal. A dark and fantastic composition which opens a new passionate page of his musical voyage.

The first time ever ...

Cette semaine, la Valerie Party qui se déroulera à la Flèche d'Or sera l'occasion d'apprécier le tout premier live européen de nos amis canadiens Electric Youth. Pour vous faire partager cet évenement, nous proposons aux vingt premières personnes qui enverront un mail sur valeriejetaime@free.fr de faire partie de la guest list. Pour info, l'édition spéciale de leur Ep sera en vente exclusive pendant la soirée. Le plateau sera également complété par les live et dj-set de College, Anoraak et Maethelvin. En attendant vendredi, je vous propose une escapade sonore intitulée "The Secret Diary Mix" qui fait suite au "Teenage Color Mix" et vous plongera un peu plus dans l'univers de College.

This week, the Valerie Party which will be held in the Flèche D'Or will be an opportunity to appreciate the very first European live date for our Canadian friends Electric Youth. To celebrate this event, the first twenty people to send an e-mail to valeriejetaime@free.fr will be put down on the guest list. Also the special edition of Electric Youth's EP will be for sale exclusively during the evening. The lineup will be completed by a live and dj-set from College, Anoraak and Maethelvin. A bloody adventure ...

Gutterballs est un film d'horreur canadien écrit et réalisé par Ryan Nicholson. Ce spécialiste du maquillage et des effets spéciaux a décidé de passer derrière la caméra après avoir travaillé sur X Files ou l'excellente série des "Destination Finale". Je vous laisse découvrir, à travers la bande annonce, l'aventure sanglante de ce groupe d'ados au bowling. La ténébreuse musique du film est, quant à elle, signée par Gianni Rossi, un compositeur Italien aussi mystérieux que talentueux. Réfugié à Florence après avoir fui la Mafia Milanaise, il m'a récemment contacté afin d'évoquer la sortie prochaine de son disque. Le label allemand Permanent Vacation Records édite, en effet, une édition spéciale en vinyl dont sont tirés ces deux extraits exclusifs.

Gutterballs is an Canadian horror movie written and directed by Ryan Nicholson. This special effects and make-up artist decided to make his move behind the camera having worked on X Files or the excellent series of " Final Destination ". Witness below through the trailer, the bloody adventure of a teenage band's trip to the bowling alley. The dark music of the film is created by Gianni Rossi, an Italian composer as mysterious as he is talented. Taking refuge in Florence having fled the Milan Mafia, he recently contacted me to recall the release of his original score. The German label Permanent Vacation Records has now released a special edition vinyl, from which these two exclusive extracts are pulled.
